Waves recorded legendary bassist Randy Hope-Taylor (known for his work with Amy Winehouse, Paul McCartney, and Mark Ronson) playing an electric fretless bass. But here’s the innovation: they didn’t just sample the notes. They sampled the transitions —the slides, hammer-ons, pull-offs, and the subtle squeak of fingers moving across roundwound strings.
