In the film's brutal climax, the Rajput men charge into Khilji’s army and are slaughtered. As Khilji enters the fort expecting to capture Padmavati, he finds only ashes. Padmavati and the women have walked into a massive pyre, choosing death over dishonor. The film ends with Khilji staring into the void, having won the land but lost the object of his obsession.

Set in 13th-century medieval India, the film follows the life of (Deepika Padukone), a legendary queen of Chittor known for her exceptional beauty and wisdom.
