Xech Dit was first discovered in the early 20th century by British explorers, who stumbled upon the site while on a journey through the remote regions of northern Vietnam. The initial reports described a sprawling city with crumbling architecture, intricate carvings, and mysterious symbols etched into the stone surfaces. Although the site was documented, it was largely forgotten until the 1990s, when a team of Vietnamese archaeologists led by Dr. Nguyen Duc Trung began conducting a comprehensive excavation.
