This is the most common cause of data corruption. By default, Windows 10 and 11 use "Fast Startup." When you shut down Windows, it actually hibernates the kernel to boot faster.
Linux uses a strict user/group permission model (chmod/chown). Windows uses Access Control Lists (ACLs). When you write a file from Windows to an Ext4 drive using these drivers, the driver must assign Linux permissions to that file.
