It is a grotesque distortion of "faith healing." When he realizes he can’t go through with the murder (thankfully), he attempts to pivot to a miracle, only to have the child’s throat close up anyway.

"For I Know How to Heed" is a premiere that understands exactly where the show stands. It moves past the mystery-box storytelling of Season 2 and digs into the characters' psychology.
