DVDSCRs are almost exclusively associated with (typically late November through February). Studios produce these screeners to ensure that voters for the Oscars, Golden Globes, and BAFTAs can watch films that may still be in theaters or have had limited releases. Without these screeners, voters in different cities might miss the opportunity to view the films, potentially hurting the film's chances of winning awards.
